ANOTHER MILSTONE IN THE JOURNEY OF ONE CAMP A DAY

It is a matter of great pride that in its efforts to achieve the target of ‘ONE CAMP A DAY’ under the flagship project “Doctor at Door Step”, Mahavir International, Delhi achieved another milestone by inking a Memorandum of Understanding between CONCOR & MAHAVIR INTERNATIONAL for 2013-14 on Wednesday, 1st May, 2013 at CONCOR Bhawan for sponsoring:

  • 16 Mega Health Checkup camps
  • 5 Cataract Operations per camp
  • 20 Spectacles per camp

This gesture of CONTAINER CORPORATION OF INDIA LTD will surely go a long way in strengthening our efforts in achieving our mission of ‘CATARACT FREE DELHI’ thereby bring peace, cheers to poor and disadvantaged sections of society.

ANOTHER FEATHER IN THE CAP

Mahavir International Delhi received another landmark in its continuous effort to provide “Sight to all” and to bring light and smile on the depressed and gloomy faces by celebrating and successful culmination of its Eye Care Day as “Hope for Light” at the jam packed Siri Fort Auditorium on the evening of Sunday the 27th January, 2013.

At the outset Chairman Shri Ranjan K. Jain Advisor Railway Board in his brief welcome address expressed his gratefulness to the dignitaries including Sponsors, Supporters and members to support us for the noble cause. Besides Sponsors, Senior bureaucrats also graced the function.

Sh. B.P. Rao Chairman & Managing Director BHEL, Sh. C.S. Verma Chairman & Managing Director SAIL and Sh. S.L. Bansal Chairman & Managing Director Oriental Bank Of Commerce joined Chief Guest Sh. A.K. Purwaha Chairman & Managing Director, EIL in lighting the lamp. Sh. A.K. Purwaha commended our dedicated and selfless efforts to serve the humanity. His gesture to felicitate our esteemed Sponsors and kith and kin of deceased eye donors provided us much needed inspiration & motivation. Souvenir 'JAN SEWA 2013' containing messages of prominent Dignitaries and Articles covering eye related topics was also released by the Chief Guest.

Legendary SHAAN and his team presented Live Concert for the noble cause. His musical and appealing melodies added further charm and amusement and made the jam packed audience of Siri Fort Auditorium spell bound and made the whole celebrations superb, charismatic and memorable. Moved by our mission SHAAN voluntarily pledged his eyes. Master of the ceremony, Ms. Maneesha Dubey eloquently anchored the whole event with ease and command.

In concluding the function Sh. S.K. Jain, IPS, Member Public Grievance Commission honored legendary SHAAN & his team with bouquets & Memento.

 
Mahavir International Delhi (MID) Got Selected For The Fluor Centennial Community Fund

These 10 charities, with active involvement from Fluor employee volunteers, will receive $10,000 USD each to complete their specific community improvement projects.

“Doctors at their Door Step” – Naresh Jain from Fluor's New Delhi office submitted this project and for Mahavir International Delhi (MID) and it got selected for the Fluor Centennial Community Fund.

With Fluor’s support, a team of medical professionals specialized in respective disciplines, accompanied by a well-equipped mobile medi-care unit will visit 20 health check-up camp sites providing services and free medicine, creating visible improvement in the lives of the underprivileged.

Naresh Jain and FluorCares team handed over the Rs. 100000/- Cheque to Mahavir International on 27th June 2012 in presence of Board members of MID.
Balance amount will be paid in the next 02 quarters.

MTNL PERFECT HEALTH MELA

Mahavir International Delhi received another landmark by participating in the recently concluded MTNL Perfect Health Mela organized from 23rd October to 31st October 2010 at NDMC grounds Laxmi Bai Nagar, New Delhi.

Free Eye Check up camp was organized on all the 9 days of duration of the Mela. Besides screening the eyes of 600 patients, free medicines were also distributed. Literature highlighting mission of Cataract Free Delhi and other allied activities of NGO was also distributed. The participation provided us an opportunity to create awareness about our aims and objectives which received widespread appreciation from different quarters in as much as Dr. K.K. Aggarwal President Heart Care Foundation of India and organizers of the Mela acclaimed our efforts.

ANOTHER FEATHER IN THE CAP

Mahavir International & Jan Sewa Foundation two Social NGOs join together for a common objective"CATARACT FREE DELHI".

Jan Sewa Foundation has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Mahavir International for availing expert medical advise and Catract surgeries with IOL implant to be performed in our well equipped hospitals having state of the art operation theatres.

The Signing event was organized by Jan Sewa Foundation and witnessed by Chairman Sh. C.P. Jain, Vice Chairman Sh. Anil Jain, Secretary Sh. Sudhir Jain and Project Director Sh. Sukhmal Chand Jain from Mahavir International Delhi.

 
ANOTHER MILESTONE

Delhi Centre received another felicitation by its Apex Body at the International Convention held at Shree NakodaJi (Rajasthan) on 24-26 Sept, 2010 by conferring following Awards :

  1. Naitra Shivir (Eye Camps) - First Position all over the Country.
  2. Sarv Shrestha Kendra (Best Centre) - Second Position all over the Country.
  3. Sadsyata Vikas (Membership Development) - Second Position all over the Country

MAHAVIR INTERNATIONAL IN UTTAR PRADESH

On 25th July, 2010 Mahavir International Delhi, received another landmark by organizing a Mega Health Check-up camp outside NCR to provide free medical aid to unreachable poor, needy and helpless residents of Bhargain in Dist. Kanshiram Nagar, Near Etah Uttar Pradesh 300 KM away from Delhi. Comprising HEART,. ENT, GYNAE, GENERAL MEDICINE, PAEDIATRICS and EYE CHECK-UP. Team of Medical Specialists and expert paramedical staff with all the infrastructure for blood- Sugar, BP, ECG and complete Eye check up were in place at the camp site.

The camp sponsored by Mr Raj & Mrs. Vandana Jain from USA and supported by Mr. Ajay Choudhary, IPS and Mr. Anshuman Yadav, IPS was a grand success. More than 700 persons were provided free treatment with free medicines in different disciplines. Large number of elderly poor and needy persons from adjoining villages had gathered at the camp site since early morning covering long distances in spite of rainy and soaked weather. It was unfortunate to see such misery and curable diseases go unattended. Our services were welcomed warmly and with gratification.

Presence of eminent and distinguished dignitaries from different fields of life viz Mr. Rajesh Yadav Sr PCS officer UP Govt, Mr.Mohit Gupta Asst Commissioner Commercial Tax Meerut, Mohd Aslam Khan AGM BSNL and others graced the camp and appreciated our activities, vision and mission of eradicating curable blindness which had a deep and lasting impact on the participants and other local population.

NOTE ON SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY SUMMIT

Mahavir International Delhi was one of the key sponsors of the Summit on Social Responsibility organized by Delhi Management Association at India Habital Centre on 16th July 2010.which besides others was attended by leading Corporate Houses and PSUs viz ITC, TIMES OF INDIA, POWER GRID CORPORATION, ARCELOR MITTAL, IOC, NTPC, BCF INDIA, PRAYAS,AIRPORT AUTHORITY OF INDIA, and others. The whole session has been very informative and educative revealing the nature of activities undertaken by various organizations in the field of social responsibility.

Shri Ashok Jain, Chairman Finance briefly highlighted the activities and contributions of our NGO with special focus on its vision of “Cataract Free Delhi”. Besides the support forthcoming from NTPC, SAIL, GAIL,BHEL, POWER GRID, NTPC, IOC, AAI etc, he also gave a reference of persons at the helm of affairs, which had a deep impact on the audience and in turn created awareness and perception of our NGO.

The impact of the brief was evident when, after the conclusion of the Summit, a good number of participants i.e. Dr. H. Chaturvedi, Director BIM (Tech), Mr. Sudhir Sinha, Country Head Arcelor Mittal, Mr. Niranjan Khatri General Manager –ITC, Mr. P.C.Pandey, Director Times Foundation and a host of others sought more information about the activities and working of our NGO.

The organizers thank Mahavir International Delhi for being one of the sponsors and also assured to involve our NGO in a more meaningful and constructive manner.

 
CANARA BANK IN THE SERVICE OF HUMANITY

Public sector banks and Govt. undertakings have always been front runners in accelerating the efforts of Mahavir International in helping the downtrodden people of the society living in Jhuggi Johpri and slum areas of Delhi. Canara Bank has added another milestone in the service of humanity by donating 2 Auto Refractometers worth Rs. 5.80 Lc for checking the eye sight of the people in camps organized by MID in far flung areas of Delhi.

Shri K. K. Mishra, General Manager, Canara Bank, circle New Delhi, handed over a cheque of Rs. 5.8 Lc to Sh. Ashok Jain, Chairman - Finance & Shri Sudhir K. Jain, Secretary at Rajhdhani Charitable Hospital, New Delhi on 18th March, 2010. He also inaugurated the two Auto Refractometers. They shall prove to be a landmark in achieving our mission of making "Delhi Cataract Free".

In our efforts to achieve our mission of ‘Cataract free Delhi’ a further revolutionary beginning was made by signing of MOU with Amway Opportunity Foundation Noida for organizing large scale free eye check up camps.

 
FREE EYECARE SERVICES IN UTTARAKHAND

A maiden attempt has been made recently in the far flung hilly areas of Uttarakhand where medical services are not available. Mahavir International Delhi has organized health camps in remote villages where free eye checkups & IOL cataract operations were conducted.
